Yog Manav Vikas Trust since inception in September 2001, has travelled quite wide and deep into few villages of Chamba District and expanded its activities including in the field of Village Development, Agriculture and Horticulture, besides extending its base and adopting modern technology in approach. Trust and its volunteers believe in action and results, not only in words.

 
 

 

Annual Function 2004  

 
 
  • Trust observed its annual function on 25th April, 2004

  • Sh.Yogendra Prasad, CMD, NHPC & NHDC was the Chief Guest on the occasion. 

  • Chief Guest undertook a visit and inspected vocational training institute branches at Branghal, Hathni and also participated in the program of Saili village on 24th April, 2004, where he inspected the activities including products of Aggarbati & Candles etc.  He also inaugurated baths & toilets constructed by YMVT for villagers.  Two cows were also donated to widows to reinforce their means of income.

  • Also inspected the Jassorgarh village where 1 bigha land has been dedicated to the trust for strengthening farming methods. A shed has been constructed where handicraft unit was inaugurated for women to facilitate manufacture their products.

  • Residents of both villages determined to live in harmony, in association and help for each other, not to indulge in any kind of intoxication and to convert their into ideal village.

  • Chief Guest inspected the Bal Ashray on 25th April, 2004 where sports material donated by CPS-I to the children of the Bal Ashray, were distributed.

  • Laid foundation stone by the Chief Guest on 2 bighas of land acquired by Trust near Sukrain Bain on 25th April,  where Trust determines to construct Yog Chetna Vigyan Kendra.

 

 
   

Performance highlights  

 
 

 Social Upliftment  / Education

·   Distribution of school uniform / education including books and copies to 50 Nos. very poor school going children of 30 villages on 25.4.2004 (these 50 students are being supported by trust).

  • Distributed of scholarships to 50 students who acquired first position in 5th and 8th classes of 30 villages of Chamba District.
 

Bal Ashray

  • A shelter home for parentless children established in Bhalei in March, 2003 has been shifted to NHPC Complex, Devidehra where 13 boys are being provided living with special care and education.

 

 

 
 

Vocational Training Institute

 

  • 73 No. of girls appeared in final examination of cutting & tailoring conducted by National Institute of Open Schooling, Govt. of India, New Delhi.  All the students cleared the exam. 35 girls achieved more than 80 % marks.

 

  • All the girls securing more than 80% marks were rewarded by special prize by the trust,  besides  certificate of pass issued by the NIOS, Govt. of India.

 

  • In the current session commenced in March, 2004, 117 girls are undertaking courses in cutting & tailoring, dress making, beauty culture.  5 No. boys are also undertaking courses of PA/PS from this current academic session.

 

  • Branches for training for undertaking courses in cutting & tailoring also operating at Branghal, Hathni and Churi. 35 girls are undertaking courses, including at Banikhet.

 

  • Trust aims at providing self help employment    opportunities to the pass out girls for which purpose two tailoring units have been established at Banikhet and Saili and 16 girls have opted for utilization of tailoring units and provide means of income.

 

Handicraft & Farming Development

 

  • Handicraft unit for shawls and other woolen items established at Jassorgarh.

 

  • Palampur Agriculture & Solan Horticulture University prepared a detailed report for development of agriculture based programmes in remote location at Jassorgarh village of Tissa block and Saili village of Salooni block for growing off-season vegetables and other cash crops for economic growth of the villagers.

 

  • The Trust determines to undertake agriculture based activities including training to 10th and 12th class students in agriculture and off season vegetables through Palampur University for improving their financial condition and the villagers.

 

 

Village Development

 

  • Saili village is adopted by the Trust for converting into an ideal village. Concrete paths, Toilets and bath rooms are being constructed by the Trust.        

 

  • Training to 10th and 12th class students has been provided for manufacture of incense sticks, candles and papad etc. for providing self employment opportunities through self help groups.

 

  • At village Saili, Adult literacy programmes is also being conducted by 10th/12th class students of the village and villagers are advised not   to indulge in any kind of intoxication.

 

  • A detailed report for lift irrigation scheme for the Saili village prepared and participation of village farmers being sought for implementation.

 

Health Care

 

  • 6 No. medical camps organized in last 6 months.  Dr. Tajinder Dhillon, expert in ENT conducted the camp   and 267 villagers were inspected for their diagnosis and health care.

 

  • A medical camp on heart care was organized in association with Himotkarsh  Jan Kalyan Parishad in the Trust premises on 5th July’2003where about 450 patients were benefited.  

 

  • 3 No. medical camps were conducted by the Trust at Dharwala, Jassorgarh and Saili where 607 villagers took the advantage of medical camps.

 

Donations to the Trust

 

  • The Income-tax Department, HP has inspected the performance of the Trust & granted exemption under section 80G of income tax act vide letter No. CIT/Shimla / TEC/ 2004-05/336–339 dated 23.04.2004 by the Commissioner, Income Tax, Shimla till 31st March,  2007.

 
   

SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS :

 

 
 
  1. Received special acclaim for missionary zeal of the Trust from Padam Shri Vijay Chopra, Chief Editor, Hind Samachar Group & National President ,Press Trust of India during his one visit to Trust premises on 22nd September 2002.

  2. The Trust has been granted exemption for Donation/Contribution under Section 80G  of Income Tax Rule, thanks to I.T Commissioner, Shimla vide No CIT/Shimla/Tech/2001-02/7344 dated 30.09.2002, further extended upto 31.03.2007 vide letter no. CIT/Shimla/TEC/2004-05/ 336 -339 DATED 23.04.2004.

  3. Received accreditation from National Open School, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India in running courses by YMVT Vocational Training Institute vide their D.O No. NOS/DIR9/Acad/AL/2002 dated 01.10.2002.

  4. Inauguration of Multipurpose hall by Sh. Avay Shukla, Principal Secretary (Forests) cum Financial Commissioner to the Govt of HP on 11th August’2002.

  5. Inauguration of Yog Manav Vocational Training Institute by Sh. R.V. Shahi,  Secretary (Power) to the Govt. of India on 8th December’2002.

  6. Inauguration of Construction work for Shelter home for Parentless children by Sh. Yogendra Prasad, CMD, NHPC on 8th December’2002.

  7. Inauguration of Shelter Home for Parentless children (Bal-Ashray) in a hired building at Bhalei (Barangal), initially for five children by Mrs. Asha Kumari, Education Minister, Govt. of Himacahl Pradesh on 16th March’2003.

  8. Smt. Jayawanti Ben Mehta, Hon’ble Minister of State for Power, Govt. of India paid visit to YMVT during 3rd May’2003, distributed uniforms to school children and appreciated charitable and service efforts of Trust.

  9. Sh. V. S. Kokje, His Excellency the Governor, Himachal Pradesh, alongwith Sh. Harsh Mahajan, Hon’ble Animal Husbandry Minister, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, visited exibition stall of YMVT on 27th July’2003 at Minjar Fair Chamba.

  10. Sh. Virbhadra Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister visited Trust Premises on 06th April’2004 and appriciated Trust’s works & achievements.

  11. Sh. Yogendra Prasad, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC & NHDC was chief guest for annual function on 25th April’2004. He also visited Yog Manav Vocational Training Institute branches & villages and appreciated the hard work put in and result achieved in so short period.

 

 
 

Donations made to the Trust are exempted under section 80-G of Income Tax Act’1961 vide letter No. CIT/Shimla/TEC/2004-05/336-339 dated 23.04.2004 of Commissioner of Income Tax, Shimla valid till 31.3.2007. Kindly donate for the causes & objectives of Trust.
