Vision & Mission

 
The journey to Yog Manav Vikas Trust, a voluntary organization, takes us to the lands of Chamba district of H.P. In the serene environment the Trust has determined its mission of providing necessary direction to this deep urged search of relationship to all at different levels i.e. social, educational, environmental and spiritual. 

Social upliftment

Environment

The mission of the Trust plans in phases to provide the community service by making efforts to remove the misery of fellow human-beings, bringing consolation to distressed hearts and helping the down-trodden through economical development and alternative farming.

Our existence itself is in doldrums if we are not able to be in communion with environment and ecology.  With this in aim, the Trust’s objectives include some aspect at environmental level : -

  • Protection of nature/ environment and stop deforestation in and around villages.

  • Promote use of eco-friendly products.

  • Promote clean and green environment and maintain natural habitat.

  • Formation of ECO/Nature-Clubs in projects and schools also, in association with various Govt. and other organizations.

  • Launch environmental awareness programme.

  • Organise environmental awareness programmes.

 

 
 

Education & Rehabilitation

  • Assistance, support for education of very poor/orphan helpless children. 

  • Special need education for disabled including mentally challenged children.

  • Crafts/training centers and centres for youth/woman/girls.

Women Empowerment and Help

  • Formation of self-help groups.

  • Help-line for women in distress.

  • Childcare and nutrition.

  • Rural based training for girls & women

  • Widow’s home providing shelter & education

  • Self employment potential/ development

 

Highlights Performance/ achievements  

 
Since its inception in September 2001, the Trust has been striving hard to achieve its mission of serving needy mankind especially around in the periphery of Chamba District.

Social Upliftment

 Vocational Training Institute

  • Identification of 30 villages initially for implementation of multifarious objectives of the Trust.

  • Established Aromatic Plants Growers Society for plantation of Geranium, Lavender & other medicinal plants through local farmers to improve economical conditions.

  • Conceive, prepare, plan & implement projects relating to improving economical conditions of locals.

 

  • Accredited by National Institute of Open Schooling Govt. of India, has been imparting training to girls/rural youth in cutting & tailoring, dress making, beauty culture & secretarial practice (stenography).

  • The course on secretarial practice commenced with computers for the first time anywhere in Chamba district.

 
Bal Ashray Environment

A shelter home for parentless children established during March’2003 is working very well and special care is being given to the studies and health of the adopted children.

Observed World Environment Day on 5th June 2002 & 2003 with participation of school children of Dalhousie and Banikhet   in   the   form  of rally campaign against abuse to Mother Nature, water & environment.

  • 5000 saplings of different varieties were planted in villages of Chamba District during the month of July 2002.

  • Conducted Environment campaign on water, the elixir of life-in public and other schools/college in September/ October 2002 for generating wider awareness amongst the growing generation.

  • Formation of Nature clubs in all the schools of Dalhousie/ Banikhet and hydroelectric projects in area around the Trust.
General Education & Women Empowerment

  • Adoption of 52 no. very poor school going children including (parentless/single parent) of  villages for extending support in attaining education up to 10th standard.

  • Persuading others to adopt at least one child financially for providing education him/her up to 10th standard.
